Every year, when we were small, our mams and dads would take us to the theatre to sit goggle eyed

as Cinderella went to the ball, Dick Whittington became the Lord Mayor of London and Aladdin

became rich beyond his wildest dreams.

We saw ventriloquists, jugglers, musicians, singers, dancers and actors and we were spell-bound by

the lights, the music and the scenery.

We couldn’t believe our eyes when genies popped out of the stage.

We couldn’t believe our ears when girls dressed as boys sang wonderful songs and we laughed until

we cried when a man dressed as a woman slipped in the wallpaper glue and fell on his bottom.

I am sure the same is true for many of you!

Just in case there are any boys, girls, mams, dads, grandmas and grandads who might have never

experienced the happiness we felt, we now put on a pantomime every year at the Tyne Theatre.

Over the last ten years Newcastle Panto Ltd. have brought joy to thousands of people, showing

them the good, clean, family entertainment that we saw as children and our geordie flavoured

traditional pantos have now become an unmissable north east institution.
